Unbelievably beautiful day for March. March is rarely this warm, and to make it even more rad, I was off all day. Busy day off though. Mia had her very first smash-cake photo session. What's that you say? It's exactly what it sounds like: Jill baked a cake. Molasses, apple sauce and her own frosting (safe for Mia to eat). She decorated it and brought it to the studio. Later, I brought Mia in, we changed her into a fun outfit and shot pictures of her destroying her cake. Which is exactly the idea. We were cracking up watching her smear frosting everywhere and shoving cake in her mouth. The pictures are absolutely hilarious.
After all that excitement, Mia and I headed home and she napped till Uncle Jay came over. He's a swell guy, I talked to him a while ago about the tree that was in our yard, and asked if he'd like some free firewood. He jumped at the chance and came over today with his chain saw. Well, Jay and I learned that Mia was TERRIFIED of it. She freaked out and I had to take her inside. After he finished, she was still petrified of Uncle Jay. He was like "oh NO she's scared of me now!!" She'll get over it in time for when Jay and his wifey come over for Mia's 1st birthday party. Going to do some serious power cleaning this weekend for the party. hopefully Mia behaves. Tonight after dinner, we had a lovely walk in the park near us. I looked forward to it all day. The weather was PERFECT for a nice family walk. Mia had a lot of fun in her stroller as Remi ran next to her. Afterwards, she swung in the swings and didn't wanna get out. Way cute, right? She looked especially rad in her Misfits outfit with purple pants. Very punk rock. When we got home, we played with Remi till it got sorta dark. Mia was wandering around the yard attached to either my fingers or Jill's. Great way to end a nice Wednesday.
This dog portrait is kicking my ass and getting quite tricky. Hopefully I can pull it off and move on to other projects. Had to turn down a freelance one today my buddy steve texted me about. If I wasn't a busy Dad, I probably could have done it, but my time is so limited. Thanks all for now dudes!
