Life Led Out Loud

A week from Tuesday, we'll be soaking up the sun in Florida, although the week or so here in Wisconsin has been very pleasant. I love the skeptics coming into KT "you know, we're do for a big snow storm, it's been to nice". Hate to break it to you, but I doubt we're going to get any more snow. IF we get any snow, it won't even measure on the ground. Welcome, early spring :) So my Dad came over the other day to visit with Mia and myself before I went to work. He asked me something I've thought about lately. "Mike, do you ever remember a time without Mia?" Well of course I do! I remember everything. Remember my college life when I met Jill, remember my short-lived career as a drummer, parties with friends, traveling all over with the love of my life, etc etc. Of course I remember all of these things! But now as a parent, I have this wonderful child in my life. Would I eliminate that to go back to us being a kid-less couple? Of course not!

A child one way or another, can really enrich your life. They make your life hectic at times, but Mia really makes me appreciate the simple things in life. Just hanging outside with her on these warm days is just amazing. Watching her learn to hold herself up and slowly try to let go of my hand makes me the proudest Dad in the world. She hasn't figured it out yet, and still likes to make sure I'm behind her, but they don't call it "baby steps" for nothing, right??

We went to the park today. Would be nice to meet some young parents with kids at the Pro Health-Care park some day to talk to. Most of the time we just walk Remi, come back and put Mia in the swings for a while till it's time to go home. Tonight, a bunch of kids came running up to Remi cautiously wanting to pet him. This one girl tried to pet him, but would run off...Then would run up again...but turn around and run away. Remi was confused.

Mia's party is Saturday. Tons to do, but it should be a good time. Wish the weather would be nice but it looks like 50s and possible rain. Awesome, right?
