Okay, back to the week. Friday, Mia got to jump at my parent's bouncy house they had borrowed from a friend for their daughter's end-of-the-year party. The girls had a ton of fun. I love it that this neighbor kid can hang with Mia who is probably 3 years younger than her. Mia totally loves to hang out with her from time to time. With Jill's birthday on Sunday, and her parents driving up here on Saturday, Mia and I went out and got the bike. A bit tricky trying to wheel it through Walmart, and get it mounted on my car with a 4-year old. Mia can be patient at times, but today wasn't it. Luckily, it made it home and into the garage. Jill made dinner and her parent's brought up a fruit tart that was really good. She loved all of her gifts and Mia just was so excited to bring the bike out, that they had to go for a short test ride around the driveway. I don't know if Mia's bike needs air, or the tires are just really bad, but she's been struggling a lot with that thing and gets so frustrated. That's one thing we've noticed lately. If the kid struggles with doing something, she explodes in anger and walks away. It's not even that she's given up, it's that she gets angry so quickly. Same with art. If something doesn't look right that she's drawing, she throws the paper away and starts over. Saturday morning, Jill and her Dad hand-built Mia a lemonade stand out of some wood we had purchased years back to build a small fence around our "garden". They were able to quickly put together a really nice sturdy stand. I was designing the logo and removing some old branches from underneath the pine tree. Mia will be selling lemonade, cookies and dog treats July 11th outside Jill's studio. She decided on her own, that she'd donate the proceeds to the HAWS humane society in Waukesha because "Daddy, they need new doggie toys and treats". A very noble idea for such a young kid. Sunday afternoon, Jill and her painted the stand pink and white. It looks great so once my brother prints out the sign, we'll be ready to start making the products! Mia had another successful day at swim class. She learned how to "torpedo dive" off the edge into Jill's arms. I'm really glad she's enjoying the class.
that
This week, we've got my 1/2 brother and his boys coming to visit as well as Jill's friend Leanne so it'll be once again, another busy but fun weekend. Thanks for reading!
