And...We're back folks!

In case anyone has been wondering, I haven't blogged in quite a while. Why? Computer was getting fixed by a girl (my wife works with)'s boyfriend. Couldn't have happened at a worse time (although I could think of times were it could have been worse) because the World Cup is under way and I haven't been able to blog about it. All art projects were at a stand still too. Bugger. Anyways, it's been an interesting one. Spain, who won last WC, got knocked out early from the result of two really awful games. It was painful to watch the 2nd one (I missed the first one) They just never looked like they were in it. A few other heavy hitters like such as England and Italy are out as well. It's gonna be interesting to see who takes it. Brazil are the favorites. Argentina are up there too, but they haven't been dominating like their supporters tend to think they can. Brazil vs Chile tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get a little glance at it. Maybe. Otherwise, I'll be checking scores. There's something really exciting that a lot of people are getting into soccer/futbol right now. I know it's because the US team is in, but the fact that there are massive viewing parties all over the country is something amazing. Grant Park in Chicago was completely packed. A buddy of mine was there during the US vs Portugal game. I still hope to get down to the Nomad Pub on the East Side and catch a game. Just need to find someone to go with :)
Mia's accomplished a few "firsts" for her in the last few weeks. A week ago, myself and my Mom took her and her cousin Alex to Monkey Joe's (inflated slides etc) and she went down a big slide. Something big for her since she gets quite nervous on things like this. Plus there were big kids jumping wildly around her. She loved it. Later that day, she went to her first ethnic fest with Jill. GREEK FEST. Jill's never been, but loves the food (sadly didn't get any) but anyway, Mia rode the carousel and these dog-shaped tea cups. When I came home from work, she was so excited to tell me about it. The first time she attempted to ride the carousel at the zoo she freaked out. This time she told Jill "I wanna go on it, I PROMISE not to cry Momma!" and sure enough she did well. Wish I was there to watch it.

Going to Summerfest tonight with my sister. First time I've gone down in several years. Way before the kid was born. Maybe it was Alkaline Trio. Anyways, Tegan and Sara are playing. I've been a fan of theirs for a quite a while now and have been told they really put on a good show. Their new stuff took a little bit to grow on me, but it's pretty good. Before that, Mia and I are gonna hit up the park with her friends who we haven't seen in a while. Should be fun. She's really getting good at her trike. On a walk with Remi the other day, she rode the whole way and when we got home, she got off holding her legs panting like she just rode a marathon. "DADDY THIS WAS EXHAUSTING" Good thing she had a lot of fun doing it :)

That's it for now. Thanks for reading :)
